As part of Dean Close’s long-term vision to create a 21st Century Academic Quad at the heart of the School, the new Humanities and Science Centres represent the next exciting phases of a transformational programme of investment in teaching and learning.

The Douglas Graham Humanities Centre 

Opening September 2026

Building work began at the start of the Lent Term and we are on schedule for the opening in September 2026.

Designed to complement the existing Maths, Business & Economics Centre, the new Humanities Centre will provide a stimulating environment where pupils can collaborate, exchange ideas and develop their intellectual curiosity.

The outstanding new facility will feature eight spacious teaching rooms, together with a dedicated breakout space, creating flexible and contemporary areas designed to support a wide range of teaching and learning approaches.

Inspiring the next generation of Scientists, Engineers and Innovators

The final phase of the vision we set out to achieve a decade ago will create an inspiring new home for Science at the heart of the School.

With more than 750m² of modern teaching laboratories, the new Science Centre will provide dedicated spaces for Biology, Chemistry and Physics, designed to place practical learning at the heart of the pupil experience.

Purpose-built laboratories will be complemented by dedicated breakout spaces, enabling pupils to undertake extended investigations and long-running experiments, while developing the curiosity, creativity and problem-solving skills that will prepare them for the future.
