Pupils Explore Challenging Global Issues with Mike Scott-Baumann

On Tuesday, the History and Politics Department welcomed guest speaker Mike Scott-Baumann, a former teacher and author, to speak with GCSE and Sixth Form pupils. His visit provided an opportunity for pupils to engage with a complex and often sensitive area of modern history in a thoughtful and informed setting.

Mike delivered an engaging overview of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict, tracing key events from the First World War through to the present day. His talk provided valuable context and helped pupils develop a clearer understanding of a topic that continues to shape global affairs.

Pupils responded with maturity and curiosity, asking a range of insightful and considered questions. The discussion that followed reflected both their engagement with the subject and their willingness to explore challenging global issues in a constructive way.
